This module provides information for breastfeeding and non- breastfeeding postpartum women.

After completing this module the Nutrition Assistant will be able to:    

Ø  Describe the general nutritional needs of postpartum women.

 

Ø  Describe common postpartum problems and identify solutions to these problems.

Ø  Identify indicators of nutritional need and specify conditions for a postpartum woman’s WIC eligibility.

Ø  Discuss family planning.

Ø  In a case study situation, assess a postpartum woman’s anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, and dietary status.

 

Ø  In a role-play situation, interview and provide individual education to a postpartum woman.
